Media Defence Receives Grant Award from Craig Newmark Philanthropies

Media Defence is thrilled to announce receipt of a grant award of $150,000 from Craig Newmark Philanthropies (CNP). This grant award will directly support our efforts to help journalists, citizen journalists and media outlets across the world so that we can prevent and reduce the routes that are currently exploited to silence journalism.

Media Defence is incredibly thankful to have the support of Craig Newmark Philanthropies. The worldwide deterioration of media freedom, exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, has meant that journalists’ need for free, high-quality legal support is increasing. This grant will enable us to reach more journalists in need, so that they can continue to report on issues of public interest.”
