Nicola joined Media Defence in November 2022 as Finance and Operations Director. She is a chartered accountant, having trained with Sayer Vincent LLP, an audit firm which specialises in the charity sector.

She has experience within INGO finance departments in the UK and Malawi. She has previously worked with Partners In Health (via Accountants for International Development), Theatre for a Change and MSI Reproductive Choices.

Nicola is the Treasurer of Legal Response International, an organisation that provides free, high-quality legal support to poor and particularly climate vulnerable developing countries and NGOs in relation to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNCCC) negotiations.
