Elisabeth joined Media Defence in 2022 as Coordinator of the Legal Network for Journalists at Risk, a global platform for coordinating different forms of legal support to independent journalists and media outlets around the world. Prior to joining Media Defence, Elisabeth was a consultant on projects for a several freedom of expression organisations, including International Media Support and UNESCO. She worked for nearly two decades at the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), where she launched CPJ’s Journalist Assistance Program and Global Campaign against Impunity. She specialised in emergency assistance to journalists at risk, impunity and mechanisms for safety of journalists.
