Digital rights are an emergent and dynamic field. Protecting digital rights involves a host of new actors that did not exist in previous generations of the media, such as internet intermediaries. The internet is an incredibly powerful tool for social progress and the fuller realisation of human rights, but it also gives rise to particular challenges.
