Martin Kramer (Trustee)

Martin Kramer has practiced law in London since 1969.

He is a specialist in media and commercial law and has been involved in several standard-setting media cases.

Leading cases on which he has worked include the Spycatcher litigation at the European Court of Human Rights which extended the defence of the media in actions for breach of confidence.

He also acted in the case of Tolstoy Miloslavsky v. the UK, which set the principle of proportionality of damages in defamation cases, and acted for the Sunday Times in the House of Lords case of Reynolds v. Times Newspapers which created a new defence of responsible journalism for the media.
