To deliver our work we rely on the goodwill of many, many lawyers, most of whom give their time 'pro bono'.
The assistance they provide ranges from helping find lawyers to defend journalists in a particular country, providing legal research on specific issues relevant to a case to helping draft legal briefs. Much of our strategic litigation at the European Court of Human Rights, for example, is carried out with the assistance of specialist media lawyers who provide their time entirely pro bono.
