Projects in 'Switzerland'

The Media Legal Defence Initiative has intervened in a case before the European Court of Human Rights concerning the legality of the use of hidden recording devices. The case originated in Switzerland, where two reporters were convicted under Swiss Penal Code for using a hidden camera to record the mis-selling of insurance products. MLDI's intervention points out that the use of hidden recording devices can be a vital tool in investigative journalism and that there should be a strong public interest defence to any charge of invasion of privacy.
