Gugulethu Moyo
Executive Director
Gugulethu Moyo is responsible for developing and co-ordinating the strategies of the organisation and for day-to-day operations.
A lawyer by background, Gugulethu has a long involvement in media and human rights issues and more than 10 years of experience in a variety of senior not-for-profit and business sector roles.
She chairs the board of directors of the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum International, a UK registered not-for-profit organization, and serves on the advisory board of the Africa Research Institute.
She has also served as Law Programme Manager for the media freedom organisation the Media Institute of Southern Africa and as In House Legal Advisor and Company Secretary for Associated Newspapers of Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, publisher of the national newspaper The Daily News, where she managed corporate legal affairs and litigation.
Over the years Gugulethu has contributed to a wide range of media work. She has written, spoken and broadcast widely on human rights and media freedom issues, worked as a presenter of a radio programme and edited newspaper supplements.
Prior to her appointment, Gugulethu Moyo worked as a Programme Lawyer for the International Bar Association, the global association of lawyers.
Gugulethu has a Bachelor of Laws Honours degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Oxford. She is a registered legal practitioner with the High Court of Zimbabwe.
