Bambang Harymurti
Bambang Harymurti is CEO and Corporate Chief Editor of Tempo International Media in Jakarta, Indonesia. He has been a journalist covering regional and international news since the early 1980s, working for several journals, including TIME magazine, Media Indonesia Daily, and Tempo Weekly Newsmagazine. He has been a member of the Press Council of Indonesia since 2006.
Mr Harymurti has been at the forefront of media freedom reform in Indonesia. He has been involved in several high-profile defamation trials, one of which resulted in elements of criminal defamation law declared unconstitutional.
Mr Harymurti was educated at the University of Harvard and is the recipient of many prestigious fellowships and awards, including the 2005 Knight International Press Fellowship Award for Excellence in International Journalism.
