Ann Grant
Ann Grant was the British High Commissioner to South Africa from 2000 until 2005, after which she joined Standard Chartered Bank (Standard Chartered Capital Markets) as their Vice Chairman.
Ann has had an extensive diplomatic career, having begun her work in the Foreign Service in 1971 within the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in both London and Calcutta. Since that Anna has acted in various capacities, including as Consul and Head of Chancery at the British Embassy in Maputo, Mozambique, as a part of the UK Representation to the European Communities in Brussels, as the UK Counselor for economic, social and human rights at the United Nations in New York and as the Director for Africa and the Commonwealth at the FCO.
